LINDON, Utah, Jan 28, 2009 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- Customers who take advantage of the True-Up program will be offered an extension on lower-priced products for a limited time
The SCO Group, Inc., (Pink Sheets: SCOXQ) a leading provider of UNIX(R) software technology and provider of mobility solutions, in an effort to maintain the valuable software investment of our customers, and to provide a path for customers who are not current with their licenses, today announced a license "True-Up" program that allows customers to purchase additional licenses at current, lower prices for a limited time.
In 2008, several customers approached SCO and indicated that as a result of internal IT departmental reviews they had determined that they were deploying copies of SCO's OpenServer products that exceeded their number of valid licenses. SCO encourages other customers which may find themselves in similar circumstances to take advantage of temporary lower pricing to bring their licenses current.
As part of its plan to exit Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, SCO has committed to offer customers an opportunity obtain the correct number of valid licenses. SCO also recently announced pricing increases to certain UnixWare and OpenServer products. Customers who contact SCO and actively work to license all products will be offered the current, lower-priced product for a limited time, and some additional volume discounts may apply.
