LAS VEGAS, SCO FORUM, Aug 07, 2006 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- The SCO Group, Inc. ("SCO") (Nasdaq: SCOX), a leading provider of UNIX(R) software technology and mobile services, today announced the company has made the Palm(R) Treo(TM) 700w and Palm Treo 700p smartphones reference platforms for SCO's expanding number of mobile services. In addition, SCO has become a member of Palm's PluggedIn developer program to more easily develop and deploy SCO mobile services on the Treo 700 series.

SCO first delivered its current Me Inc. Shout and Vote mobile services on the Palm Treo platform in 2005 with the Treo 600 and Treo 650 smartphones. SCO announced plans last year to introduce other mobile services and will soon deliver the first of these with the release of HipCheck for remote control and monitoring of Windows and UNIX systems as well as clients including the upcoming release of Windows Vista.
